iLEAP: Logistics Emissions Data Model Extension based on ISO14083 and the GLEC Framework.
The vision of [iLEAP] is to ensure global emissions transparency in supply chains, to enable seamless emissions exchange in logistics, and to integrate product carbon accounting with logistics emissions accounting. To achieve this:
- iLEAP implements the concepts of [GLEC] Framework and [ISO14083] and transforms them into a ready-to-use data model extension (DME).
- It is designed to cover the full logistics value chain, including e.g. freight forwarders, logistics service providers, operators of warehouses, port operators, as well as owners of cargo such as manufacturers.
- iLEAP covers emissions at shipment-, TCE-, TOC- and HOC-levels, so that all companies can gain the necessary transparency at different granularities, based on primary data and across the entire logistics value chain.
- Due to its technical approach and full interoperability with the PACT Framework and Technical Specifications, iLEAP also allows companies to integrate logistics emissions into their corporate-level and product-level emissions calculations.
iLEAP is co-authored by the Smart Freight Centre and the SINE Foundation and has been shaped by the contributions of numerous participants from the logistics industry and beyond.
