Green x Digital Consortium Launches PACT-based resources for carbon data management
We are thrilled to announce that the Green x Digital Consortium has published two PACT-based resources in Japanese (and English): the CO2 Visualization Framework (Edition 2.0) and the Tech Specs toward Data Exchange (Version 2.0). These publications are crucial for improving transparency and efficiency in tracking and sharing carbon emissions data across industries, marking a major step forward in our collective efforts to drive value chain transparency globally.
As one of the world’s largest economies, Japan has a critical role to play in driving decarbonization. With the country's aim to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by 2030, the Green x Digital Consortium is at the forefront of actively engaging with businesses to succeed in this effort.
Established in October 2021, the Green x Digital Consortium works towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 through the digitalization of environment-related fields and the development of new business models. It promotes co-creation among its members on issues such as visualization of carbon emissions in the supply chain and the introduction of renewable energies.
The resources released by Green x Digital this summer accelerate Japanese businesses’ efforts to enhance value chain transparency. By following the PACT approach, these resources ensure global applicability and interoperability. In addition, the CO2 Visualization Framework includes methodology-related resources that utilize Japanese systems and data accessible in Japan. Notably, a remarkable 26% of the 31 current PACT Conformant Solutions come from the Green x Digital community, demonstrating its digital maturity and readiness to leverage technology for decarbonization.
We congratulate the Green x Digital Consortium for making these resources available to Japanese business. All materials are available in both English and Japanese, further lowering the barrier for adoption. The resources can be downloaded from the Green x Digital Consortium's website (see below), enabling Japanese companies to enhance their data sharing capabilities and transparency efforts.
